Temporary roles in demand as more workers shy away from nine to five

June 30, 2008 · 2 Comments

According to a recent workplace survey published by Robert Half International,  40% of workers questioned said they would take a cut in pay for another role that would offer them more of a work life balance.

Ken Harbourne their senior manager, states that over the last year he has seen a significant increase in the amount of people choosing long- term careers as temporary administrative professionals. So much so, they have just opened a new division called Office Team to cope with the influx of client requirements.

Even more interesting stats from their survey state that over 50% of respondents said they couldn’t take all their annual leave entitlements in the one year, as they had too much of a workload!

At www.AdminJobs.ie the most popular keyword used in the search option on our site is part-time, and the keyword ‘part-time’ is up as one of Google’s most popular terms job seekers use when finding our site through their search engine, so certainly the demand is there.

With the economy spiralling out of control (as they say), maybe we will start seeing more part-time roles become available as compaines downsize?

Also the trend is to do some work from home too. People want and maybe need flexibility to be able to be with children and aging parents. In order to get a full or part-time job, your readers may be interested in the tips at http://www.readysetsuccess.com/jobinterviewtips/
